You know, dentistry today, most dentists aren't really or don't tend to be aware of their patients' concerns of fear. We, at our practice, that's one top priority we do, because almost every patient has some little anxiety about going to the dentist. We handle that through . . . And the reason we do this is because we want our patients to be comfortable. We allow them to have nitrous oxide or laughing gas free of charge. We do not charge for it. We want our patients to be comfortable. We promote them to have it if that will help them.
There's also two other forms of sedation we also offer. I've been certified in sedation dentistry, and we provide pill-form sedation, dentistry where we monitor the patient, and also IV sedation, where we also monitor the patient. I myself, I bring in a certified nurse anesthetist that helps me monitor the patient while I'm working on the patient so they are closely monitored.
And when the patient knows that they're going to be taken care of and they do not have to feel one iota of any kind of discomfort, that brings the anxiety level way down. So in that regard, that is a tremendous service today because many patients won't admit that they're fearful, but if we offer them free of charge the nitrous oxide and it makes them comfortable, it's well worth it.
